The Toomey lab is focused on
understanding the adaptations of the avian visual system by
bringing together a diversity of approaches from optical physics
to animal behavior. We also pursue studies of the molecular and
enzymatic mechanisms that generate the spectacular diversity of
coloration in the animal kingdom.
We are looking for graduate
